He was a member of the Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church and a Navy veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Riley was a member of the National Rifle Association, and he enjoyed taking photos for "Find-a-Grave.com". Mr. Riley was former owner of Lowcountry Fence Company and Southern Wood Lumber Company.

Surviving are, his wife of 43 years, Chere Jameson Riley; a daughter, Renee R. Hodge and her husband, George, of Ridgeville; two sons, Christopher B. Riley and Phillip H. Riley and his wife, Mandy, all of Summerville; two sisters, Helen R. Walker of James Island, Deborah R. Pace of Goose Creek; two brothers, Marion A. Baker of Cottageville and James Riley of Summerville; and nine grandchildren.

~ ~ Uncle Jr. loved his family. He has a beautiful wife that has stood by him for over 40 years, three great kids, 9 adorable grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and countless nieces and nephews.

He was a tough disciplinarian growing up. Not only did he make his children toe the line, but he expected everyone else's to as well! The Dyson and Riley families are famous for their sense of humor and Uncle Jr. was one of the craziest! The stories that Mama could tell about them growing up and the way he would pick and the jokes he would tell. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He always had stories about growing up and the most awesome collection of old family photos.
