Margaritha married Christian Abegglen, the elder, on 15 June 1821 at Gundlischwand, Bern, Switzerland and he died there on 9 April 1857.
She immigrated to America with her sons. They came to Utah, Ulrich (21), the youngest traveling with the Sixtus E. Johnson Company of Latter-day Saints between July & September of 1861 and she, along with sons Christian, the younger (40), Conrad (23) and Conrad's family, in an unidentified Company of 1862.
Her obituary was published in the Deseret Evening News, 15 April 1885, 208.
