Evelyn M. Arquette, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born June 25, 1918 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to Alfred and Jennie Hilliard.

On August 25, 1944 Evelyn married Harry E. Arquette. She worked as "Rosie-the-Riveter in Detroit during World War II. They had three children and raised them in Albion.

Evelyn ALWAYS put other people first. She took great joy in helping someone and sharing what she had. A laugh, joke or story was always shared when family and friends gathered around her. Time spent with family was always a celebration. She will be missed by her family and many, many friends.

St. Paul Lutheran Church was her home church, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 55, the National Association of "Rosie-the Riveter" and being an Albion Public Schools teacher aide were important to her. She was active with the American Blinded Veterans Association with her husband, Harry.

The Arquettes were blessed with good health for many years and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Attending activities of their three children, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren brought them great joy.

Evelyn is survivd by her husband of 68 years, Harry. Three children: Mary Jean (Denzil) Bell of Temperance, MI, Carol (David Sr.) Locke of Albion, and Donald (Molly) Arquette of Estero, FL. Grandchildren: Michelle Locke Buffington of New Mexico; David Locke Jr. of Albion; Matthew Bell of North Carolina; Catherine Kubera of Avon, OH; Erica Schroeder of Jackson and Justin Arquette of Jenison, MI. Twelve great grandchildren called her "GG". One sister Thelma Wayward Shaver of Marshall.

Two sisters, Emily Pettibone and Mildred Schaberg, and her parents preceded her in death.

Thank you to Oaklawn Hospital, Home Health Care and Oaklawn Hospice programs for their exceptional care these past 10 weeks.

Evelyn displayed her strength and faith throughout her life and served as an example for many. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Evelyn M. Arquette.

Family and friends may visit at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI. 49224 on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 6- 8 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held at St Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd, Albion, MI on Wednesday, October 24 ,2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dennis W. Matyas officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
