Elizabeth "Betty" Van Erem, 68, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at a Green Bay hospital following a long illness. The daughter of the late John and Sophie (Pawlak) Muraski was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Green Bay and was a 1949 greduate of Pulaski High School. On Jun 6, 1951, she married Knowton Van Erem at St. Agnes Church,Green Bay.

Betty had been employed for many years at Canteen Corp. in the cafeteria at the former Fort Howard Paper Co., until her illness. Her favorite job was taking care of her little family. She took great pride in her grandchildren. They gave her the will to live and not give up.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Knowton; two daughters and their families;(names of the living removed for privacy)

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Josephne Diederich; three brothers, Edwin, Robert and James Muraski; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Szela, Chester Davis and Stuart Englbretsen.

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Parish Wake Service 7:30 p.m; Sunday. Visitaiton continues after 9 a.m. Monday at St. John Cantius Church, Sobieski, Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday at the church, Fr. Gerald Prusakowski O.F.M. officiating with burial in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to thank the many healthcare professionals who took such good care of Betty during illness.
