Elias T. Burt

Elias T. Burt, 86 years old, of 108 School Street, died Thursday evening on the way to University Medical Center in Ann Arbor where he was being transferred from Thorn Hospital. A retired farmer, Mr. Burt was born Aug. 23, 1878, the son of Matthew and Mary Powers Burt.
He had lived in the Hudson area all of his life. The only survivors are nephews and nieces, Mrs. Elizabeth Browning of Mercer Island, Wash., Bert Martin of Hudson, Tom W. Burt of Okemos, Joseph Burt of Santa Ana, Calif., and Lawrence Bavin of Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, in 1960.
Mr. Burt was a member for 59 years of the Hudson Masonic Blue Lodge.
The funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home, Hudson, the Rev. Carfon Foltz officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery near Ransom. Pall bearers were Orville, Kenneth, and Russell Powers, William and Allen Burt and Richard Dow. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery near Ransom.
