She was the daughter of the late Guy and Mary Waybright Keefer.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of St. David's UCC, Hanover. A graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1946, she was once employed as an executive secretary for Hanover Tool. In 1982 she began her career as a real estate agent in Hanover, working at Key, Chandler, Vockroth, Century 21 and Coldwell Banker.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Guy E. Barnes of Hanover; a daughter, Debra Ann Bowers, McSherrystown; one brother: Lloyd "Toot" Keefer, New Oxford, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Guy "Babe" Keefer, Norman "Bud" Keefer and Ruth "Sis" Sheaffer.
