Pioneering Photographer. Opening her first studio in 1904, she was the first woman to be admitted to the Photographers Association of America. She received their top award in 1907. Inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame - posthumously - 1994. Her career ended in 1944 due to failing health and eyesight. She donated her photograph collection to the Dayton Art Institute in 1952. The Dayton Art Institute held an exhibit of her photographs entitled "The Soul Unbound: Photographs by Jane Reece (1868-1961)"
