MOWEAQUA — Mark Thomas Gorden, 51, of Moweaqua died 11:45 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 25, 2005) in his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with Greg Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Bilyeu Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials: American Cancer Society or First Christian Church Hospitality Committee.
Mark was born Dec. 29, 1953, in Decatur, the son of Thomas J. and Mary Ann Corby Gorden. He enjoyed farming and loved antique tractor pulling, hunting and fishing. He served as Prairieton Township trustee and was a member of First Christian Church in Moweaqua. He married Candy Moore on April 24, 1976, in Moweaqua.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Kristy Gorden of Arnold, Mo.; Jennifer Neece and husband Boomer of Moweaqua; brother, Scott Gorden and wife Luanne of Moweaqua; sister, Linda Norbits and husband Ted of Mount Zion; parents; grandson, Michael Boomer Neece of Moweaqua; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one nephew.
