Reno Evening Gazette, 12/7/1937: Last Rites Held for Mrs. Boone. Bridgeport, Calif., Dec. 7 – (Special) – Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Ada Boone, a pioneer resident of this community, who died at her home here Saturday afternoon. Services were conducted by the Auxiliary of Mark Twain post of the American Legion of which Mrs. Boone was a gold star mother. Born in Salinas, Calif., in 1852, Mrs. Boone came here with her parents when she was a young girl and has lived in the vicinity ever since, with occasional sojourns in Reno. She is survived by a son, two brothers, Judge John D. Murphy of Alameda county, L. H. (sic) Murphy of Reno and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles Kirkwood, George Hughes, George Delury, Frank Wedertz, William Cargill and Clarence Wedertz. Interment was in the family plot of the local cemetery. [Note: She was the second wife of Harvey Boone, pioneer of Bodie.]
