Bessie M. Snyder, 76, a resident of Casper for the past 21 years, died early Wednesday at Casper Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee French, early pioneers of Converse and Platte counties. After her marriage in Douglas to George J. Snyder in December of 1904, she lived in Douglas for a few years. Then the family moved to Glendo where Mr. Snyder was postmaster for many years. After his retirement in 1944, Mr. and Mrs. Snyder moved to Casper. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. (A. T.) Catherine Covington of Casper and Mrs. (Cleo) Marion Neely of Cheyenne; three sons, George J. Snyder of Lander, Lee Snyder of Trinidad, Colo., and Eugene E. Snyder of San Bernardino, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. (Information was obtained from her obituary in the Douglas Budget Sept. 2, 1965 and cemetery records.)
