In 1942 the following men were abducted by the Partisans and taken away into the forest: Franc Jakoš Jr. (19 years old, a painter, from Dobrunje), his father Franc Jakoš Sr. (a shoemaker and sexton at St. Ulrich's Church, from Dobrunje), Milko Cankar (22 years old, a gymnastics instructor, from Dobrunje), Franc Jakoš (22 years old, nephew and cousin of Franc Jakoš Sr. and Jr., from Bizovik), and Janez Pavčič (a student teacher and member of the Catholic Action club, from Bizovik).
On 20 March 1943, members of the Polje and Bizovik village guards found the bodies of the men, killed by Partisan forces in the Krčmar Woods between Troščine and Bliska Vas. They were buried in two shallow graves in a beech forest and were identified based on their personal effects. Franc Jakoš Sr.'s throat had been cut, and Franc Jakoš Jr.'s jaw had been broken in half. Franc Jakoš Sr., Franc Jakoš Jr., and Milko Cankar were buried in the cemetery at Saint Ulrich's church, and Ivan Pavčič and Franc Jakoš at the Bizovik cemetery.
