DECATUR - Russell E. Boren, 94, of Decatur passed away at 8:52 P.M. on Thursday, February 28, 2008 in Eastview Terrace, Sullivan, IL

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, with military graveside rites provided by The Macon County Honor Guard. By the family's request, memorials may be made to East Park Baptist Church in Decatur. Messages of condolence may be directed to the family via email at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Mr. Boren was born on January 7, 1914 in Anna, Illinois, the son of Horace and Flossie (Treece) Boren. He was a Carpenter with Local Union #742 and was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of East Park Baptist Church and Carpenters Local #742. He married Madeline Hamrick in 1945. She preceded him in death on December 21, 1984.

Surviving are: three sisters-in-law, Lexie Boren, Murelene Morris and Jane Hamrick. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother, Glenn P. Boren.
