Unfortunately, in 1947 many, if not all, of the interments at Lafayette were removed to other cemeteries. Some of these were allegedly dumped into trenches in a cemetery in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
He was also the brother of Louis, a tailor in Philadelphia and, according to his will, father to Albert Bernhardt born circa 1876. After the death of his mother, Catherine, Albert lived in Germany with his paternal aunt, Amalia Bernhardt Jaeger (per family).
