Ella Lee Swearengin of Portland, formerly of Corvallis, died Sunday at Baptist Manor in Portland. She was 94.
She was born in Rush Hill, Missouri, to Stephen A. and Nora Geetings Watkins.
She grew up in Michigan and moved to Oregon at the age of 15. She married Eli Swearengin on May 2, 1929. She lived in Alsea from 1929 until 1956 and then in Corvallis until 1993. Prior to retiring, she worked as the head cook at Highland View Middle School.
She attended Columbia View Wesleyan Church in Portland and was active at the senior center. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crafts and sewing.
Survivors include her daughter, Roberta Ogle of Portland; son, Steven of Corvallis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
A service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Suburban Christian Church. Interment will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Garden, Albany.
