Levi Columbus Pridmore, a resident of Oregon for the past forty years, died at his home in Springfield, Oregon, August 26, 1927. He was a farmer of that section, retired for the past few years, and an honored and respected citizen. Mr. Pridmore was born in Prince William County, Va., near Manassas. He enlsited in the Confederate service when not seventeen years of age, and was a loyal follower of Lee throughout the bitter conflict. He was active in many battles, inckluding the second battle of Manassas, the Wilderness, Fredericksburg, and Gettysburg. He was slightly wounded in action twice. and was taken prisoner in the last year of the war, confined in Washington, D.C., and at Fort Delaware Prison, where he was when the war ended.
Comrade Pridemore was married to Miss. Ella Shelbine Kintzley, soon after going West, who survives him with one son and two daughters. Four sisters and four brothers have gone before. Three of his older brothers served in the Confederate army, one being promoted to a lieutenant. Interment was at Mount Vernon Cemetery near Springfield.
