Donald Applegate, an 81 year old former resident of Trenton, MO passed away at 1:25 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City, MO.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18. 2011 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 Tuesday evening. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left with the funeral home.

Donald Dean Applegate was born March 13, 1930 in Trenton, MO to Glen and Rose Mae Ferguson Applegate. He served in the United States Navy from May 29, 1951 to May 26, 1955. On June 16, 1968 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen George in Galt, MO. Mr. Applegate worked in Trenton as an insurance salesman, manager of a finance office, and worked for the railroad for five years. He was a member of the Hickman Mills American Legion.

Surviving relatives include his wife Mary of Kansas City, MO, a niece Teresa Olney of Chillicothe, MO and a nephew Father Gary Applegate of Kansas City, KS.

Those preceding him in death include his parents, a brother Bob Applegate, and his step father Leon Snidow.
