Laura Bothun
Laura Emma Bothun was born in MIltona, Minnesota on December 29, 1900, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Zunker) Timm. She attended grade school in rural west Miltona. Laura married Joseph Bothun on November 18, 1924, at Miltona, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Minneapolis until 1930 when they moved to MIltona, Minnesota. IN 1937 the Bothuns moved to Nelson, Minnesota, which was their home until 1978 when Mr. Bothun died. Laura moved to Knute Nelson Memorial Home in 1979 where she has lived until the time of her death.
Laura died on Monday, September 23, 1985. She is survived by one son, Rodney S. Bothun of Calexico, California; one grandson Richard, also of Calexico, California; two sisters: Mrs. Robert (Agnes) Henning of Miltona; Mrs. Paul (Clara) Lemke of Alexandria; one brother, Emil Timm of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, two grandsons, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral service was held on Friday, September 27, 1985, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran church, Nelson, Minnesota, with Rev. Loren Spaulding and Rev. Magnus Peterson officiating. The soloist, Doris Bradley was accompanied by Beverly Steuck.
Pallbearers were Harland Lemke, Darrel Timm, Timothy Timm, Richard Timm, Donald Leatherman and Duane Kaufman.
Interment was at Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Minnesota. Services were directed by the Anderson Funeral home.
