Alice Anderson
Alice E. Anderson, age 72 of Osakis, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 1992 at her home.
Alice Evelyn Brouns was born on July 21, 1919 in Osakis to John and Helen (Schmidt) Brouns. She married Darwin Anderson on January 8, 1944 in Osakis.
Before her marriage, Alice had worked as an assembler for an airplane factory and also as a waitress for the Nelson Café. After their marriage she worked with her husband farming their farm south of Nelson, Minnesota. She loved the out-of-doors and in additions to the farm work, also grew beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. She was an excellent cook and canned much of their garden produce. She also enjoyed singing, and was a member of the church choir wherever she attended.
Alice was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Nelson, and belonged to Our Saviour's Ladies Circle. She had been a member of a homemakers group and also the local T.O.P.S. group. She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis and St. Mary's Church in Alexandria.
Alice is survived by her husband, Darwin Anderson of Osakis; one daughter, Dawn and Dennis Jaeger of Goodwin, SD, one son David and Pauline Anderson of Osakis; three grandchildren, Kevin and Andrea Yaeger and Alyssa Anderson; three brothers¸ Richard Brouns of Richland, Washington, Robert Brouns of Rockville Maryland, Austin Brouns of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Virginia Rainwater, Olympia, Washington, Joan Richied of Little Falls; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Brouns.
She was baptized on August 8, 1919 and confirmed on July 17, 1927.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8, 1992 at 11 am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Nelson, Minnesota with Reverend Merlin Bartelt, Reverend Kenneth Thiele, and Reverend Victor Kinzer officiating. Music was provided by organist Bev Steuck with soloist Dana Hetland. Interment was at the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Minnesota.
Honorary pallbearers were Fyrn Jensen, Helen Dropik, Pat O'Brien, Laverna Nelson, Eleanor Eddy, Lorraine Rice, Marlys Ferris and Margaret Melen.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis.
