Ernest Gerald Postell
Ernest Gerald Postell, 80, of Robbinsville, Tenn., and a former resident of Andrews, died Thursday morning, May 13, 2004, in Athens Regional Medical Center. A native of Andrews, he was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Ella Mae Durryburry Postell. He was a member of the Red Marble Church in Andrews.
He served in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII, and was associated with the Tennessee Valley Authority as a public safety officer until his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Ayers Postell of Riceville, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sue Postell of Sale Creek, Tenn.; one sister, Leora Raper of Andrews; two brothers, Marvin Postell of Andrews and Garland Postell of Mineral Bluff Ga.
Funeral service were held on Saturday, May 15, 2004, in the Chapel of Jerry Smith Funeral Home with full military honors and Rev. Bob Daughtery officiating. The family recieved friends from 10 until 11 a.m before the service.
Jerry Smith Funeral Home of Athens, Tenn. was in charge of all the arrrangements.
