Our dear, sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Thurza passed away at home on Dec. 1, 2004.

She was born Dec. 7, 1921 to John Alma Vance and Gertrude Halliday in Gunnison, UT. She married Thomas Keith Christensen, May 14, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She served an LDS mission with her husband in Johannesburg, South Africa. She served as a temple worker, and in other church callings. She loved to garden, crochet, travel and read inspirational books. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survived by her children David (Violeta), Bruce (Carol), Jill (Bob) Stewart, Annette (Bill) Martin, Tom (Cindy); son-in-law Sam Loftin; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Norma (Brandt) Curtis; and sister-in-law Verna Vance. Preceded in death by her husband, son Dale, daughter Linda Loftin, brother Alma, sisters Beth Vance and Lucy (Wilford) Keyes.

Her viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S. on Friday, Dec. 3, from 6-8 p.m. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 at noon at the Olympus 6th Ward, 3070 E. Nila Way (4120 So.) with a viewing from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Online condolences can be sent on a www.larkinmortuary.com.
