Jacque Lou Boatman, 68, of 1337 Tom Hill Hollow Road, Muncy, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born June 4, 1944 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Arthur and Ruby (Smith) Haubert. Jacque was raised at the home of her maternal grandparents, Charles and Laura Smith, along with her mother's twelve other brothers and sisters.

On Sept. 2, 1960 she married John Thomas Boatman, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2004 after 43 years of marriage. Jacque loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed traveling and flower gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Donna) Boatman of Muncy and Aaron (Deanna Trevino) Boatman of Watsontown; one daughter, Michele (Mark) VanBuskirk of Gainesville, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Boatman of Turbotville; seven grandchildren, Brad (Lauren) VanBuskirk, Brooke VanBuskirk, Jessica (Nick) Wilson, Tom (Megan Campbell) Boatman, Ryan (Ashley) Boatman, Josh Boatman and Tyler Boatman; and three great-grand-child- ren, John, Natalie and Breeah Boatman. Also among her survivors are her companion, Bob Dougherty, and an aunt and uncle with whom she was raised, Erma Hurlbutt and Dale Smith, both of Jersey Shore.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, John Thomas Boatman, Jr. who died in 1998, and an uncle with whom she was raised, Chuck Smith.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Pleasant View Wesleyan Church, 994 East Penn St., Muncy. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen R. Smith. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.

The family welcomes flowers; however if desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
