William H.(Bill) Mounts


William Harrison (Bill) Mounts , 71, Claysville, R.D.3 died suddenly at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, 1960. He had been in failing health for the past year.


He was born May 26, 1888 in Buffalo Township, a son of the late William Elmer and Ida Polen Mounts.


On June 27, 1911 he was married to Sylvia Jane Scott who survives.


Mr. Mounts was a member of East Buffalo Presbyterian Church and followed farming his entire life, for many years being a thrashing machine operator and veteran sheep shearer in Washington County.


Surviving beside his wife are three daughters, Mildred, wife of Harry Applegate, Claysville, R.D. 2; Louise, wife of Lloyd S. Breese, Claysville, R.D. 3 and Martha , wife of James Byers, Washington; six sons, William S. Mounts, Canonsburg, R.D. 2; Melvin E. Mounts, Washington, R.D. 4; Cephas S. Mounts, Claysville R.D. 1; Charles G. Mounts, Washington; Sherman Mounts, Claysvile, R.D. 2, and Dean Mounts, Claysville, R.D. 3; 32 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Martha Steel and Mrs. Winona Tush, both of Washington; Mrs. Susan Danley, Canonsburg and Mrs. Elizabeth Hayman, Wellsburg, W.Va.; four brothers, Robert E. and Abe Mounts, Washington and Elmer and S.R. Mounts, Claysville. One brother is deceased.


Interment at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, Pennsylvania.
