Effie Mae Powell, 92 of Providence passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3 in Madisonville.
She was employed as a nurse's aide and homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Oscar Powell Sr. and Torris Powell Sr. both of Providence, and Isaiah Powell of Hampton, Va. Four daughters, Alma Medley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.,Gladys Fann of Wadley, Ga., Katie Hugley of Macon, Ga. and Carolyn Bowder of Providence. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive.
Effie was a member of Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence.
She was preceded in death by her husband Forris and two sons, Ben and Forris Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1 PM at Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence with Bro. Bobby Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 am to service time at the church on Saturday.
