"EDMESTON — Marga Albanese, 78, joined those who went before her on Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999. After an extended illness she died at the family residence surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was born Marga Miller on June 27, 1920, in Germany to Hans and Dora Miller. She immigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of 7 and with her family settled in St. Albans, Long Island. She then moved to Island Park with her parents and her sister, Helen. She graduated from Island Park High School. She married Martin Joseph Albanese in Silver Springs, Md., on Dec. 9, 1938, and settled with him in Island Park. After many years on Long Island, Marga, Martin and their four children moved to upstate New York and settled on the family farm in Edmeston, where the family grew, worked, and loved for 48 years. Marga was a 4-H leader and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, West Burlington. She was co-owner of Valley View Antiques of Gilbertsville with her sister, Helen. She was a charter member of the Majors Inn Foundation, Gilbertsville, an excellent crafts person and an avid bird watcher with a love for hummingbirds. She was also a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to members of her family and to all those who came in contact with her. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Helen Cleinman of Gilbertsville; her loving children, Cece Rowe and her husband, John, Nicholas Albanese and his wife, Cindy, Patricia Rowe and her husband, Jerry, Sandra Petersen and her husband, Don, daughter, Susan Bronson; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many dear friends ... Marga will be laid to rest next to her husband, Martin, at a later date in the Hillington Cemetery, Morris ..."
