DIED.Aldrich.Mrs. Eliza Aldrich was born at Ft. Miller, N. Y., Oct. 7, 1807, and died at the home of her son, Mr. W. W. Aldrich, Tipton, April 2, 1899, at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 23 days. She moved with her parents to Delaware, Ohio, when a child, and in 1824 was married to Solomon Aldrich, with whom in 1841, she came to Iowa and settled near Tipton, where she remained up to the date of her death. She was the mother of four sons and one daughter--two of the former dying in infancy and the latter, Mrs. C. S. Chapman, in middle life. The other two sons, W. W., of this place, and Theodore, of Northern California, survive her. She united with the M. E. church at an early age and lived a consistent christian life to the close. Her tastes were essentially domestic and she found her chief pleasure in ministering to the care and comfort of her family. Her last days were pleasantly spent at the home of her son, and at a good ripe age she passed peacefully into eternal rest.
The funeral was conducted from the residence on the 5th inst., by Rev. S. W. Heald, and the remains were placed in West Bethel cemetery by the side of those of her husband, who died in 1874.
