TWO MORE PATRIACHS GONE--In another column of this paper brief notice in the usual form records the fact that two more of our aged and best known citizens have gone. Both of them octogenarians, both of them old settlers and well and widely known, their death within twenty-four hours of each other adds materially to the profound sense already existing that one generation in rapids passing from among us.

MR. SOLOMON ALDRICH, who passed from this life Saturday afternoon while the mortal remains of his old neighbor were being consigned to the grave, was born in Rutland county, Vermont, Sept. 13th, 1796. He went to Ohio when about twenty-one, married and settled in Marion county, where he lived for a number of years--only removing to Warren county two years before coming to Iowa in 1841. He purchased from Mr. Jones the well known "Aldrich place," a mile west of town, where he lived as long as health and strength permitted active charge of a large farm. Since leaving the farm, he has lived in town most of the time. For a year or two his strength has visibly declined, and all this winter he has been quite feeble. He was, however, thought rather better only a few minutes before the final struggle.
Mr. Aldrich was a long-time and influential member of the Methodist Church, where his funeral services were very generally attended on Monday afternoon.
