BLANKENSHIP, Frances.
Frances Elizabeth Fuller Blankenship, 91, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 02, 2012 following a lengthy illness. She was born in South Carolina, but grew up in the greater Atlanta area, the child of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Fuller. She was the youngest of three children including two brothers Thomas and Vincent Fuller. Frances married Edward Erle Blankenship (deceased) in April 1939 and had two daughters Dawn Blankenship Keaton (deceased) and Daphne Blankenship Mason. Frances and her late husband Erle were two of the founding members of Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Frances continued to be an active member of the church, helping to initiate their first single, adult ministry. She held several offices in the Sunday School and served on many church committees through the years including the Finance Committee. Frances was a respected business-woman in Atlanta's real estate market starting as a sales person with Clover Realty and later working on her own as a broker. She was quite successful, owning a number of apartments and other rentals. Frances most recently resided at Lenbrook Retirement Community in Buckhead, where she was known and loved. Her family was very dear to her heart. She is survived by her youngest daughter Daphne, two grand-daughters Charity Keaton Kling (George) of Philadelphia, PA and Katherine Mason Shane (Brandon) of Roswell, GA, and two great-grandchildren Naomi Patience Kling and Jacob Keaton Kling of Philadelphia, PA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Wieuca Road Baptist Church, 3626 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA. Burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at HM Patterson Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, please honor Frances by sending donations to: The Susan G. Komen Foundation, Wieuca Rd Baptist Church or The National Diabetes Association.
