CARYOL BACON
May 17, 1927 ~ Sept. 9, 2012

RICHLAND — Caryol "Gram" (Baker) Bacon, 85, died Sept. 9, 2012, at Life Care Center in Richland. She was born May 17, 1927, in Camas to Claude and Clairice Baker.

Caryol was known as Gram or Aunt Caryol to many. She lived most of her life in Vancouver. She married Myrl W. Bush, and then her second marriage was to Howard Bacon.

Gram loved the beach and all the friends that came with it. She lived in Ocean Park for more than 25 years and she loved it as much as a place can be loved.

She had a zest for the game of Bingo. In her later years she looked forward to the visits of the little kids, her great-great grandkids — they were little angels to her. Caryol became excited about them coming to see her.

She was always known as a very strong-willed person; she had a huge heart and was a lifesaver to many relatives and friends. Her family said Caryol had recently accepted the Lord into her life, and they hope that in Heaven there is a beach for her like the one she loved in Ocean Park.

Survivors include her daughter, Janett K. Steinauer and husband George, of Ocean Park; a grandson, Tim Bush and his wife Kathy of Richland; three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, all from Richland and numerous relatives from the Vancouver area. Her parents, her husbands, her siblings and a grandson, Ned Gosnell, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held at the Camas Cemetery on Sept. 28 to honor her life. Arrangements are by Einan's Funeral Home in Richland.
