Mary M. Arnold, 97, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday evening in Laurel Manor, Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Joseph Makovsky and the late Earl A. Arnold.

Born on August 15, 1901 in Naples, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Ursolina Pape and had lived in the area since 1917. She had worked in the Silk Mill in Stroudsburg and also the American House retiring in 1964.

She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pocono Memorial Barracks World War I Veterans; and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Thomas P. Lambert Post #2540 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Stroudsburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Josephine Sabatine of Bangor; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with Father Thomas McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery

There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
