Lee Ross

CALDWELL — Lee Ross, 87, of 210 Cleveland, died Saturday in a Caldwell hospital.

He was born Nov. 17, 1885, in Walhalla, S.C. As a young man he was employed by the P.S. Postal Service. He married Addie Phillips in 1908. They moved to the San Lus Valley in Colorado in 1915. He was employed by the D & RG Railroad in Alamoss, Colo. He later moved to Bountiful, where he was engaged in farming until 1937, at which time they moved to Caldwell, where he farmed in the Black Canyon area until his retirement in 1957. Mrs. Ross died in 1966. He was also preceded in death by three sons.

He was a member of the Double Springs Baptist Church and a past member of the IOOF Lodge of Alamoss.

Surviving are four daughters, Eunice Markwell of Caldwell, Lillian Smith of Homedale, Lucille Sullentrup of Renton, Wash., and Edna Quiller of Mesita, Colo.; two sons, Ralph Ross of Boise, and R.T. Ross of Hermiston, Ore.; two sisters, Bessie Barrett of Westminster, S.C.; and Alice Ross of Walhalla; four brothers, Charles Ross of Taylor, S.C., and Jess Hugh, and Wade Ross, all of Walhalla; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Oberchain of the First Baptist Church of Notus officiating. Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Elks Rehabilitation Center or the Idaho Youth Ranch at Rupert.
