Mrs. Etta B. Meriweather, 66, of 1539 Artman Ave., went home to be with the Lord Jan. 12, at Akron General Medical Center, after a long illness.
Born in Thomasville, Ga., she had lived in this community 63 years. She had been employed by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services for 18 years, last working in 1985. She was a member of First Apostolic Faith Church.
She is survived by daughter, Lavonne Annette Meriweather; grandchildren Lamonica Meriweather and Lamont Meriweather II, and Dameon Sommerville cousin, Mrs. Ruth Travis, all of Akron; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at the First Apostolic Faith Church, Elder Joseph Nevels officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home chapel. (Stewart & Calhoun, 535-1543.)
