KOEHLER, MARGUERITE HELENA—Marguerite Helena Koehler was born to John J. Burke and Mary Ann Keenan Burke on May 30, 1897, at Geneva, and passed away March 21, 1987, at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 21 days. She was one of eight children in the family.

Marguerite resided in Geneva most of her life.
She graduated from Geneva High School in 1917 as valedictorian of her class.

She was appointed county clerk on June 3, 1924.

Marguerite moved to Blair in 1980 after the death of her husband.
Marguerite was married to John Hoover Koehler of Geneva on October 9, 1926, and to them two children were born.

Marguerite was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Geneva and ST. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoover Koehler; a daughter, Mary Louise Koehler; parents, John J. and Mary Ann Burke; brothers, James F. and Thomas N. Burke; and sisters, Frances Wissie Burke, Mary Alice Haeseler, Julia Theresa Burke, Anna Louise Kenney and Katherine Loretta Rock.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jane Tyson, and son-in-law, George Tyson, of Blair; a granddaughter, Mary Sue Brown of Blair; a grandson, John William Tyson of Herman; and a great-grandchild, Joel J.W. Tyson of Herman.

Funeral services were conducted from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Geneva on Tuesday, March 24, with the Rev. Walter Banach and the Rev. Daniel Galas officiating.

Pallbearers were Mervell Bumgarner, Bob Girmus, Gerald Stengel, Sylvester Weis, Hugh Wilkins, and Larry Warrelmann.

Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery.
