Josiah David Harnish of the South Side, Alexandria died of a heart attack early Thursday morning, April 1, 1937 in his car a short distance from Alexandria. Early Thursday morning Mr. Harnish arose and started to Petersburg to secure a man to do his ploughing. He was found later on by Mr. Fred Rishel, his car pulled along the side of the road, not damaged. It is believed death came about 7:30 a.m. Mr. Harnish was born in Canoe Valley, near Waterstreet on December 15, 1861, a son of Peter and Catharine (Hommer) Harnish, and was aged 75 years, 3 months and 16 days at the time of his death. He was married on February 14, 1884 to Ida Hileman, of near Waterstreet. He followed the occupation of farming up until retiring in 1915. Surviving with his wife are the following children: Lynn Harnish, Clair Harnish and Earl Harnish, all of Canoe valley, Alton Harnish, of York, and Lillian Harnish, at home.
