Chestine Cozetta Scott was the only child of Ida Belle Scott and Cornelius Scott. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1963. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She also sang with many local groups along her journey, including the McClellen Aker Singers. She was actively involved in the District and State Sunbeams for many years. She also worked as a foster grandparent at Kiddie Kollege for many years. Chestine was employed for the Internal Revenue Service and then later worked for the Social Security Administration as a file clerk for many years. She also was employed at St. Luke's Ministries helping many families throughout the community. She is survived by on son, two granddaughters, two grandsons, one great grandson, one special godchild, and many telephone friends who will miss their daily wakeup call.
