June 30, 1924 in Durham, NC, a son of the late Genada B. and Fannie E. Blalock Inscoe.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II with the US Marine Corps. He was a charter member
of the American Legion Post #186. He was also a member of the VFW Post #10804 and the Elks Lodge #2679.
He served on the Durham City Fire Department during the 1960's and retired from IBM as a tools and die maker.
He was an avid Duke "Blue Devil" fan and was known for his delicious peanuts (Pa's Peanuts).
He was a member of the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jack E. Inscoe Jr. and his wife, Jessica of Chapel Hill, NC; Bryant Inscoe
and his wife, Greta of Durham, NC; a daughter Becky Overacre and her husband, Jack of Raleigh, NC; three
brothers, Malcolm Inscoe, Wallace Inscoe and Harry Inscoe, all of Durham; a sister, Frances white of
Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Jay Overacre and Kelly Overacre, both of Raleigh, Heather Inscoe, of
Chapel Hill and Magen Inscoe of Durham; a very dear friend, Lucille S. Hill of North Myrtle Beach; and
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne F. Inscoe and two brothers, Bobby
Inscoe and Claude Inscoe.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm at Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Christopher Carlisle
and Dr. Don Cherney will officiate.
