Born July 25, 1930, in Meriden, he was the son of the late John and Magdalena (Krystopa) Wojick.
John received two bachelor's degrees in education and political science from Central Connecticut State University and a master's degree in management from UConn. He taught in the education field for 34 years, retiring as a school psychologist. Following his retirement, he substitute taught in Plymouth and also Florida where he spent the winters. John spoke four languages: English, Polish, Spanish and French.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Wojick of Higganum, Kathleen Armstrong of Bristol and Kristen Wojick of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a brother, Eugene Wojick of Meriden; a sister, Lois Hebert of Windsor Locks; and a grandson, Colin Celauro of Bristol.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Literacy Volunteers of Central CT, 20 High St., 3rd Fl., New Britain, CT 06051.
