Mrs. Maude A. Lester
Mrs. Maude A. Lester, 91, formerly of 131 E. 16th, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Carlyle Nursing Home, South Bend, after an extended illness.
She was born in Waterloo, Ind., July 27, 1883, and came to Mishawaka in 1954 from Fort Wayne, Ind. She was employed at the Fort Wayne, State School, retiring in 1954.
As Maude A. Wherly she married Oscar J. Burnier in Auburn, Ind. Nov. 12, 1905. He died in 1937. She married Leo Lester in Fort Wayne in 1946, and he died in 1949.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. T. John Einkopf of Mishawaka, three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Theodore W. Snider, pastor of the Albright United Methodist Church, will officiate. Graveside services %%ill be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Roselawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Mrs. Lester was a charter member of the First Church of God in Auburn.
