was Zachariah O'Neal-spelled O'Nail in early records. In February 1822, he purchased land in Henry County. This lot(# 249/1D.)was taken into Butts County in 1825.
Peletiah's mother, Sarah O'Neal, died on December 9, 1832.
Peletiah's name is found spelled in several
different ways; this one is Biblical. On the tombstone it is "Pellytyre", but in Sardis Church minutes, she is simply "Pelly Gray". In November 1832, she had married Allen Gray, son of James Gray Sr. and Elizabeth(Johnson)Gray in November 1832. They lived most of their married lives on lot #133/8D., land that Allen had purchased from his father's estate in February 1833. They died two days apart, and are buried on that lot in the Gray Family Cemetery.
