Mrs. Ruth Carlson Bailey, daughter of Andrew and Marie Carlson, was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on June 1, 1899 and went to her eternal home on September 9th at 8:30 in the morning at the local St. Michael's hospital. Thus she had reached the age of 69 years, 3 months and 9 days. Mrs. Bailey spent her childhood and youth at Sandstone, Minnesota, then moving to Sauk Centre living on two farms and later moving to town. On June 8, 1922 she was united in marriage with Philip D. Bailey at Mora, Minnesota. To this union three children were born; Roger of Phoenix, Ariz; Lorraine (Mrs. Merle Olson) of Hutchinson; Shirley (Mrs. John Hoglund) of Langford, S. Dak; a nephew, Allen Needham of Shenandoah, Iowa, whom they raised since childhood. Those who mourn her departure are the three children, and Allen Needham; four brothers, Herman and Ben Carlson of Sandstone; Reuben of Booming Prairie ad Vicotr of St. Paul; 11 grandchildren; also Miss Mabel Miller, who has made her home with Mrs. Bailey for the past 19 years. Mrs. Bailey was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church from which she was buried Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Sept. 12th. Rev. A. Anderson local pastor and Rev. R.S. Crouse of Hutchinson officiated at the service. Songs were sung by Miss Virginia Courrier, pianist Mrs. Carlyle Key. The pallbearers were Charles Denzer, Clinton Upton, James Bailey, Manley Gunion, Stnaley Gardner and Don Bailey. The Corrigan Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral. Interment at Greenwood cemetery. Friends and relatives from out of town in attendance of the funeral were from Phoenix, Ariz; Langford, Britton and Webster, S. Dak; Sandstone, Hinckley, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Fergus Falls, Blooming Prairie, Hutchinson, Princeton, Westport, Minnesota and Shenandoah, Iowa.
