Bill was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio to Erwin R. Adams and Margret Boyer. His mother died young and Bill and his brother Francis were raised by their Uncle Francis Boyer (brother of their mother), in Coshocton County, Ohio. Bill attended the Plainfield High School and quit school to join the US Navy where he served as a male nurse. He met his wife Loretto J Johnson when he was in the service. They got married in Orange County, California on Sept 4, 1954. They settled in Derby, Kansas where they raised 5 children. Bill was in the process of developing a cane for the blind which could send a signal to the user about obstructions in their path. His death was sudden and caused by a stroke. He had just visited Ohio to sell stock in his company to make canes in Newscomerstown, Ohio.

He enlisted in the U.S Navy on June 30, 1948 and was discharged on March 29, 1968. His SSN 561543353

His brother Earl Francis Adams left Ohio around 1956 and lived in Phoenix, AZ where he got married. He later moved to PA and died there from pneumonia in 1999

Bill's wife Loretto was bon 12-8-1934 and died 7-29-2022 in Derby, Kansas at the age of 89. Her 5 children were all alive and listed in her obituaty.
