She was originally from the Jasper Community of Craven County and was employed in the textile industry.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Cleveland Ballard, officiating. She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Simmons of New Bern and a host of nieces.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
