He was native to that area and was actively engaged in his farm and quarry until ill health forced him to retire. On 30 Dec 1909, Bryant married his first wife, Catherine Grinstead "Kate" Kincheloe, daughter of George and Sallie Lewis Kincheloe of Barren County. Kate died giving birth to Bryant's only child, a daughter, Elizabeth B. The child lived. Bryant later married his deceased wife's sister, Elizabeth L "Lizzie" Kincheloe, who is his daughter's stepmother and aunt, and after whom the child appears to be named. Uncle Bryant was friendly, talkative, and engaging. Aunt Lizzie cooked my first brains and eggs in their beautiful farm kitchen. They were tasty ... then. Love to you both.

Bryant H Jackman, age 77, succumbed at his home in the Chestnut Grove community Tuesday evening after an illness of eight months. He was a native of that section, a son of the late William and Irene Basham Jackman, and was one of the best known citizens of his community. He was actively engaged in farming until ill health compelled his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Kincheloe Jackman; one daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Jones, and a brother, Kirby Lee Jackman, both of whom reside in Louisville. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at Crow Funeral Home by Rev Raymond Kennety, and interment followed in Glasgow cemetery under direction of Crow Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: W.F. Jackman, Chester Jackman, Mitchell Jackman, Russell Jackmank Harvery Jackman, and Lynn Jackman.
