The Florence, South Carolina native had lived in Florida most of his life moving to Brunswick five years ago. He retired from the United States Air Force and Civil Service. Mr. Sports loved the outdoors and collecting coins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Linnie D. Sports and a grandson, United States Army Veteran Andrew Faulkner.
He is survived by; his children, Nylene Becker of Niceville, Florida, Debbie Gutierrez of Clyde, Michigan, Cynthia Mahon of Crestview, Florida, Nyle Sports, Jr. and Dede Faulkner both of Defuniak Springs, Florida, Becky Reynolds of Crestview, Florida and Doreen Mahon of Defuniak Springs, Florida; sister, Dorothy Baugh of Brunswick; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.

Graveside Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, September 21, 2012 from the Highsmith Cemetery in Waynesville, GA with full military honors rendered by the US Air Force.
