Lottie [Charlotte] Raines was born in Circleville, Pendleton Co. WV, the daughter of Martin J. and Cynthia Hedrick Raines. Lottie died at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Baird Harman (Genevieve), Yellow Springs, Fredrick Co., MD, after a five-month long illness.

Lottie's first husband was Norman Sponaugle (married June 02, 1894 in Pendleton Co. WV), son of Lewis Sponaugle and Mary Teter. Norman was born May 02, 1873 in Hunting Ground, Pendleton Co. WV, and died January 11, 1939 at home, Hunting Ground WV.

Lottie's second husband was Thomas Austin Allender (married December 02, 1901 in Tucker Co. WV), son of George Allender and Anna Summerfield. He was born August 18, 1883 in Parsons, Tucker Co. WV, and died January 14, 1942 in Frederick Co. MD.

Lottie was reported to have had 6 children, 4 living on 1910 census, and they were all at home. Daughter Retha died at birth. Norman & Lottie may have had two children but no record of a 2nd child has been found.
