Roland Boink, 84 of Port Orchard died March 19, 1999, at his home.He was born Sept 6, 1914 in Schenectady, N.Y. to Herman and Mildred Boink. He was raised in Scotia, NY, Graduating from Scotia High School in 1933. On April 3, 1943, he married Thelma (Thompson)Boink in Las Vegas. Mr. Boink served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a flight engineer of B-29s. Later, he worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was just shy of receiving his 50 year pin. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2669. Survivors include his wife;his son, Raymond of Port Orchard; his daughter, Pamela Hodges of Port Orchard; and three grandchildren, Christopher, and Ryan Boink and Athena Hodges. Private services will be held. Private inurnment will be at Fraola Cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.Memorials may be made tho the American Cancer Society.
