PFC. JAMES RONE KILLED IN FRANCE
Pfc. James Rone, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Rone of Ethel and brother of Mrs. Roby Thompson of Greenville and of Mrs. Vernon K. Kimbrough of Lamont died in France as a result of recent wounds received in action according to a War Department announcement received by members of the family.
No details were given. Private Rone was in Chemical Warfare and had been overseas since October of 1943.
The 23-year-old Mississippian, before being inducted into the army in 1943, had been engaged in farming. He was in business with his father. He is survived by his parents, four sisters, 2nd Lt. Lyda Mildred Rone of the Army Nurses Corps, stationed in England, Mrs. Vernon Kimbrough, Lamont, Mrs. Roby Thompson, Greenville, Miss Glendolyn Rone, Jackson and three brothers, Cpl. Aubrey Rone stationed at Camp Silbert, Ala., Ralph Rone of Ethel, George Rone of Lula.
