Obituary - Tuesday, July 28, 2009
Kathryn Sue Barnes
Went home to be with her beloved Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the age of 94. She was born November 7, 1914, in Pine, Arkansas, and grew up and married in the South. In May, 1936, (s)he married Marvin C. Barnes and their marriage lasted 63 years until he passed away in May, 1999. Her faith sustained her and defined her all her life. Gardening was her abiding passion and she was never happier than when she could be outside working in her yard.
She was a talented homemaker and, in younger days, loved to crochet, sew, quilt and make Japanese flower arrangements. Kathryn also liked to fish and camp. She was a good steward of all the Lord provided. Kathryn loved much and was always willing to share what she had with those who had less.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Inge; granddaughter, Marzee J. Bentley and her husband, Douglas W.; grandson, Devon Inge and his wife, Rachel; five great-granddaughters, Jamie Bentley, Kendall Bentley, Lauren Bentley; Emma Inge and Madaline Inge; two nieces; four nephews and special friend, Anna Marie Reed.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, parents and all of her siblings, two sisters and two brothers.
Those who wish may pay their respects on Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Pastor, Mike Ruyle of Melrose Community Church will officiate.
