Jonas Clark was a clothier. He went to Dublin, New Hampshire in 1797. He married Mary Twitchell, daughter of Abel and Sarah Adams Twitchell. In 1804 they moved to Shipton, (now Richmond), Quebec, where they resided until 1819, when they returned to Dublin. The first four children were born in Dublin, the rest in Shipton. They moved to Peterborough in 1849.
