Ballet Dancer. She danced the ballet more than thirty years in the most famous stages of South American and Europe, officially retiring at age 49 after dancing with "Coppelia" in 1977. She joined the Ballet of the Teatro Colón as soloist at eighteen and was prima ballerina from 1949. As such, she starred in premieres of works choreographed by Margarita Wallmann, Leonide Massine, Heinz Rosen, Jack Carter and Rudolf Nureyev, among others. In 1971 Rudolf Nureyev chose her to accompany the release of his version of "Nutcracker" at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was director of the Ballet of the Teatro Colón twice, the last during the 2008 season. For decades, she taught and trained dozens of youths who are dancing worldwide today, including Paloma Herrera, of the New York City Ballet.
