She was born March 8, 1938, in Kanab, Utah, to Joseph and Eva Gifford Hardy.
Evelyn's parents passed away early in her life. She was raised by her grandmother, one of 16 children, growing up in Ogden, Utah. She met Howard Ady in Ogden while he was surveying. They married in 1956. They moved around the country with his surveying job. In 1963 the family moved to North Platte when Howard and his friend Ron Stoner joined the North Platte Fire Department. Evelyn cooked at numerous restaurants before finishing her career at the American Legion Club. She was a fabulous cook. Her specialties included German Chocolate Cake, dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls.
Evelyn really enjoyed children. Her grandchildren always brought a big smile to her face. She always had chocolate chip cookies for her grandkids. She loved to cook for others and she showed her love through her cooking.
Survivors include her children, Howard (Kim) Ady of Sutherland, Jaunita Schrotberger, John (Natalie) Ady, Jim (Sam) Ady, all of North Platte, Bill (Jackie) Ady, and Keith Ady, all of Omaha; brother, Keith Hardy, of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, Bryan (Adrienne) Ady, Micheal (Ginger) Ady, Kelley Ady, Steven Ady, Kerry (Chris) Roth, Misty (Rick) Brown, Heather (Eric) Welch, Rebecca Ady, Emily Ady, Brianna Ady and Jay Ady; five great-grandchildren, Annette Ady, Calvin Parrett, Jolynn Welch, Nevaeh Brown, Charlie Brown, and one on the way; several nieces, nephews and other family members; and long time neighbor and friend, Joan Milligan.
